HOLIDAY - Boat Trip to Lindisfarne

St Cuthbert

These flowers were in the church at Lindisfarne. I wasn't going to post the abbey which is where St Cuthbert started Christianity in England but I guess I should so I will go look for the picture.

Yes the abbey ruins. The statue of St Cuthbert was actually taken against the sun which was right behind his head. I had to get right down low to get the sun behind his head. But I played with the shot with an overlay of blue and painted out the rays in a mask. The b&w one did actually have some contrails from an airplane but I accentuated them. Thinking about putting them in a competition.

Hope you do enter in a competition, I really like both - the blue is so vivid and really makes a statement - think the aeroplane line is very clever, a sign from heaven :-) also just a glimpse of halo round is head - keep us updated on the competition if you do choose to enter and best of luck !!!
