HOLIDAY - Circular Walk past Hadrians Wall from Once Brewed

Another misty day

Sheep on the wall - though this is not actually Hadrian's wall just here

Geoff through the buttercups

Buttercups

Geoff' good old boots gave out that day. Bits kept falling off the soles and at the end it was like walking in carpet slippers. Not good when you are about to attempt to walk 180 miles from Coast to Coast. He had to go and buy a new pair before we started.

No, no blisters that day. I guess they just lasted long enough and we were on soft ground. I had planned to go get the car once we got on the tarmac road but he just carried on.
Yes some great place names. If you visit Once Brewed from one direction you will see a sign "Twice Brewed". Twice Brewed is the inn and Once Brewed is the Youth Hostel. We did hear some story about the irish workers who made the road and something to do with their beer. But I have forgotten and can't find it now.
