I know we are just meant to send our best but these 31 pictures have been cut down from several hundreds and I just wanted to show what a wonderful trip we had to the Farne Islands.

TWOS AND THREES - sharing the umbrella

You will have seen this couple before but I've had another go with them and put them with the reflection of St Paul's Cathedral on the pavement in the background. I didn't like the composition as they were hiding the spire so I flipped the background. I thought it looked like an optical illusion. Well it's obviously not a real one.

TWOS AND THREES

New Beech leaves on a moist morning in Pods Wood. A macro and a combination of two. First one focussed on one leaf and second on the other. But it is a shame I didn't do one with the top of the leaves in focus. I would have preferred that.

Silhouette--electrical worker

I don't know if I can do this, I can't open the blog. But I'm trying.

This was behind our house! It was a hot, stormy day in August, but I am posting it in April, for the monthly themes.

Ladies, I wrote to the words "the end" in my current novel and am very excited, though more work remains than I've done.

If you click on the image, it will show up a little bigger.

SILHOUETTE

And with this one I put in a different background. It is was a very easy one to select to give a different background. It is Holly by the way. She was swinging in her garden on the farm. The sky in the background I took from my bedroom window one morning.

With this conversion from RAW I made it more like a silhouette

This was my first conversion from RAW which I have cropped

SILHOUETTES

This is taken at the Tate Modern. My two friends exiting the weird storage rack, book and dinosaur like metal structure display. Oh OK I may as well let you see it. The Tate Modern is in an old Power Station building. No those two youngsters were not my friends.

WATER DROPLETS

Managed to get out on a misty moist morning last week. Tut tut didn't take my tripod. Really should do so next time. This was the only one I was happy with. Have added quite a bit of contrast plus some sharpening. Also darkened down the highlights round the edge of the image to draw your eye towards the droplet.
Just looked up the info and I took this hand held at 30th but my macro lens does have vibration reduction. It was f10. Reckon if you take a tripod and get a much smaller aperture you could get the branch in focus also. Must try it next suitable morning.

waterdroplets #090211-1309

GI ot some rain-X but have been so busy with the new house I haven't
tried it yet, and the droplets I did without it in the sink were bad.

water droplet #090211-1311

I've taken LOTS of water droplets, but none of them have really
satisfied me. Here's one.

WALK AROUND THE BLOCK - London

Here is the original. I made several conversions from the RAW file and produced a colour one which was much darker and spookier. I turned it to black and white as I thought it suited it.

I met my old friends in London last Thursday. Took my camera and after they had gone home I carried on taking pics. I was walking along the embankment by the Thames.

WALK AROUND THE BLOCK - London

This is a mixture of about 3 different shots. I was very lucky to have such horrid weather. I could just picture some fantastic shots in my mind and wished of course that I'd had a tripod. I took some on a reasonable speed to keep the background sharpish. 30 I think. Then took some on 25 to get some movement and show the wind.

WALK AROUND THE BLOCK - London

Turned out Nice Again
A couple leaving the city and setting out for home to cross the millenium bridge. I blended this with a different background which shows the reflection of St Pauls Cathedral in the pavement

WALK AROUND THE BLOCK - Village Green

A bench on the village green and a rope for kids to swing on.

This stone was laid before we moved to the village. We moved there in December 2000

Daffodils planted by the people who live on the green underneath the hedge. They don't live underneath the hedge but the daffs do.
